Active holiday in the High Tatras
In the guesthouse we have tourist maps of the High Tatras and surrounding hiking and cycling routes that you can visit. The staff will be happy to explain how to get there, what to see and what to take with you. They can also arrange transport for you. There are many options for places to go in the area.
Lomnický Štít 2634 m n.m. (7km)
Lomnicky Peak is one of the most famous peaks of the Tatra Mountains nicknamed “Grandpa”. It can be reached by cable cars from the station in Tatranská Lomnica, via Skalnate Pleso, which is the top station and also a transfer station to Lomnický štít. At the top there is the Observatory but also the stylish “Café DEDO”.
Belianska jaskyňa (9km)
Belianska Cave is one of the most visited caves in Slovakia. The sightseeing circuit is 1370 m long, there are 860 steps on the route, the stay in the cave lasts about 70 min. The temperature in the cave ranges from 5 to 6.3°C. During the cave tour the visitor can admire sinter waterfalls, pagoda-like stalagmites, pools and many other forms of cave decoration. One of the stops on the tour route is in the Music Hall.
Kežmarský hrad (11km)
Kežmarok Castle is originally Gothic castle from the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries ., originated on the site of St. Elizabeth Monastery mentioned already in 1251. In the courtyard of the castle are the foundations of a late Romanesque church from the 13th century. From the 15th century. Gothic elements of some of the castle’s tracts, which were Renaissance, Baroque and Classicist modifications, originate from the 15th century. The early baroque chapel is a valuable monument.
Aquacity Poprad (10km)
AQUAPARK AquaCity Poprad – a water world right under the High Tatras. In the aquapark you will find 9 luxurious indoor and outdoor thermal pools with year-round operation, 350 water attractions (water slides, jets, evening Laser show and the largest wellness centre in Central Europe), where you can relax and recharge your batteries.
Tricklandia (4km)
Tricklandia will take you to a new world, a world full of wonder that will fascinate you long after you leave Tricklandia. Trickart is an art that creates visual illusions. These are based on depicting objects as if they really exist, but in reality they are just two-dimensional drawings. It is a game between the artist and the visitor.
Chodník korunami stromov (15km)
Enjoy a walk through the treetops. The nature trail is 1234m long and has a slight incline. The Bachledka Treetop Walk is the seventh project of the German architect Josef Stöger and the company Erlebnis Akademie AG, which has already built four trails in Germany and two in the Czech Republic. The entire length of the path is barrier-free and is therefore suitable for all visitors.
Ski and Sun Bachledova (14km)
The family ski resort Ski Bachledova is situated on the southern and northern slopes of Spišská Magura with a beautiful panorama of the Belianske Tatras. In winter, the resort offers excellent skiing in three interconnected valleys with all-season snow guarantee. In summer it offers 5 bike downhill trails of varying difficulty.
Strachankovo Family Park (15km)
Under the Belianske Tatras in the village of Ždiar a new Family Park Strachankovo has grown. In this park there are many adventures for families with children. There you will find a goral farm with animals, attractions and animations for children, adventure golf, e-bike and a four-seater chairlift.
Štrbské Pleso (17km)
Štrbské pleso (1346 m) is sovereignly the most famous and most visited Tatra lake. Its name stems from its location in the historical Štrbské chotári. Since the end of the 19th century, the lake has been artificially stocked and in winter the ice was broken for cooling purposes. As it was extremely clean, it was in great demand and was imported to, for example, Budapest, Berlin and Vienna.
